Walsrode World Bird Park
The largest bird park in the world, the Walsrode bird park, is located in the Lüneburg Heath. Watch baby birds up close
Year after year, the park looks forward to lots of offspring between March and August. Some animals are lovingly cared for and raised in the hand-rearing station. With a breeding program, the operators ensure that some of the rare animals are offspring. Visitors can also tour this area and see eggs or young birds up close. The storks that live in the wild in the bird park also start to breed around Easter. Here the guest can see storks up close, which is not always so easy in the great outdoors.

Should the weather not play along, seven uniquely designed walk-in bird worlds ensure an eventful visit. A highlight is the 3,000 square meter and twelve meter high hall with a waterfall and surf, here visitors can really get up close and personal with the animals. In the large free-flight hall you will buzz around brightly colored tropical birds, which visitors can feed with mealworms. The tropical forest hall, in which the island world of Indonesia was recreated, is sensational. The bird park was supported by the Indonesian government during the realization, so that there are even several original structures, such as a Sulawesian Toraja house and a Balinese temple wall, to be admired. Also worth mentioning are the enchanted eagle owl castle, owls and owls have found their home in this reconstructed castle ruin. In addition, the smallest birds in the world are fascinating in the Kolibri House. The mascot of Vogelpark Walsrode, the giant toucan, can be admired in the Paradieshalle.
Exciting participatory feedings and a spectacular flight show
A highlight in the park is certainly the spectacular flight show of the birds of prey, in which the feathered park dwellers show impressive flying skills twice a day. During the show you go on an exciting trip around the world with the feathered stars and experience the thermals of the South American Andes with Andean condor "Carlos", hunt snakes in the savannahs of Africa with Secretary "Boots" and walk with the bald eagle lady "Lady" catching salmon in North America. An indoor show leads the audience with a lot of humor and instructive details through the world of Super-Kea Oscar, Elvis the silkie and many other animals. Visitors can also look over the shoulders of the keepers as they feed penguins and pelicans, as well as baby birds and birds of prey. A classic that is particularly popular with children is feeding the penguins. But the feeding of the baby birds is also extremely worth seeing.

The Weltvogelpark is barrier-free
The entire area of the Weltvogelpark is handicapped accessible. If a wheelchair is required, it can be borrowed free of charge with prior registration. Since dogs are not allowed in the park, there is also free accommodation for the four-legged friends.
